Pics and Shizzle
Oh my god, she's only gone and bought the Madonna with the big boobies...in chains...gasp.
But treasures this is art and my she is yar. My version is sadly not the original but made by a contemporary of Tamara de Lempicka, in oil to the exact same dimensions. Yes not only is my girl naked but she's prob a fake too but this just makes me love her all the more.
I bet the original didn't come with a big swanky massive gold frame (my girl also isn't terribly subtle). In your face Madonna - yep the material girl has the real deal, apparently hung in her New York apartment.
To add to the sheer naughtiness of my extravagant purchase is that I bid for her at auction. I couldn't help myself, I didn't need to eat that month, did I really? And I got her and she is now ensconced in my living room, in my little terraced house, dominating the room and perhaps best of all - she makes certain people gasp.
Tamara de Lempicka
Lempicka painted this art deco wonder in 1929. Some say it could be a self portrait complaining about the slavery of marriage and our Tamara was certainly no shrinking violet. Born in Poland, under the Russian Empire, fleeing to Paris from St Petersburg during the Russian revolution, she led a colourful life and was renowned for her hedonistic ways and intense love affairs. But my this lady could paint, in her own words:
"I live life in the margins of society, and the rules of normal society don't apply to those who live on the fringe."
That's our girl.
